Mark wears many hats. Currently he is (i) a cofounder/CEO of Liquidity Club, (ii) the Managing Partner of Tsunami Investments, (iii) Founding Partner leading the Strategy Practice of White Summers, (iv) Chief Strategy Officer of Zoe Foundry, WorkSight Venture Studio, Lewllyn Technology Group, AI Core Venture Studio, and Umbrella Venture Studio, and (iv) a Board Director of Suntria, Quantum 8 Venture Studio, ErgoKiwi, Armadillo, AWA Water and Silicon Valley High School. Previously Mark was the founder of 3 law firms and 3 companies. Over the past 35 years Mark has been a leading lawyer, investor, entrepreneur, strategic thinker, company director and trusted advisor in all industries, all global regions and at all stages of company development and maturity.
In his role as a recognized international transactional lawyer Mark has represented companies in well over 1,000+ financings and over 400+ acquisitions. He represents and advises companies on a wide variety of transactional matters, including business and legal issues as they pertain to complex strategic and venture financings, acquisitions, and licensing and distribution arrangements. Mark’s practice principally covers corporate, technology, financing and corporate partnering matters for a wide variety of private and public company clients. He regularly advises companies on strategic positioning, business model and revenue generation issues, the preparation of investment materials and presentations, and the structure of complex corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, divestitures, consolidations and commercial partnerships. Mark also represents investment funds on formation issues and regularly represents investors in making portfolio investments.
Through the years Mark has written numerous papers on matters affecting emerging growth companies and has spoken on these topics in seminars and conferences organized by the SD Forum, the Northern California Association of Harvard Business School, the International Angels Institute, the Asian Business Association, the EDA Consortium and other groups. Mark has also spoken on these topics in Singapore, the People's Republic of China and Malaysia. He was the organizer of the "Soup to Nuts" seminar series, the “Executive Leadership” case study series, and the “Business Books that Matter” series with the SD Forum. Mark created and led for over a decade the “Silicon Forest Forum” technology management conference with Intel Capital in the Pacific Northwest.
Mark attended Rutgers College (BA in Economics and Political Science); Harvard Business School (MBA) and the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (JD). Throughout his career Mark has applied his efforts, thoughts and resources as the founding corporate lawyer for some of technology’s most iconic companies including Tesla Motors, Hotmail, WebEx, Prezi, LEO Flight, Bedrock Robotics and others.
Mark plays golf, and he is a runner and oarsman.
